First ride with mud guards, i want some comforts now,
The tour is heating up, Contador vs Armstrong is all anyone can talk about, but is there a british dark horse, quietly sitting there amongst the main GC contenders that no one is even talking about? Bradley Wiggins has spent much of this year climbing, getting better as the road goes up and now he finds himself in the unlikely position of 5th in the TdF after the first mountain stage. If he can match the main contenders like Evans, Sastre et al, with another individual TT to come he could be in with a great shout at the overall if anyone lets him go on a solo day? Let’s hope Bradley gets a top 10 finish and maybe even an outside podium spot, wit Cav in Green we could suddenly be a very real presence in Pro Cycling at last!
Bradley Wiggins was attempting to beat his previous 10 mile Time Trial Competition Record of 17:58 in the Kent Valley RC Midsummer 10 on the L1015 Levens course in preparation for the Tour de France Prologue. He rode in pole position at number 120 starting at 8:00pm. His entry for the event had been expected, but must be lost somwhere between France & England, however with the agreement of the CTT and of Richard Hanley moving to a vacant slot in the event this has been made possible.

Bradley came past absolutely flying, I had to drive @ 60 MPH to catch up, he was slowing on the flat as I caught him but was still over 40 MPH!
When is it getting here!!! they said the 17th July, its been the 17th all day now and nothing, rumours are that it might be 10 or 11am cupertino time which is ages away.
UPDATE: I have it now, cut and paste seems ok, no compass as I think this is reliant on hardware in 3G S? No Nike+ (as promised by staff at Apple Store – Regent Street). Tethering only available with £15 extra a month!
I’ll try and use enhanced VPN and remote desktop app to access our CRM system at work.
Looking at the press shots and images of the new XX groupsets, from Sram, the XX rotors look lovely;

I think it’d be nice upgrade to my Yeti 575 although their probably going to be very expensive. The new Rock Shox Revelations would also be a good addition, meaning I could move my existing pair over to the Cotic. The travel would be more of a match to the frame (150F, 147R – instead of 140F, 147R) going forward.
Its certainly looking like a great groupset I wish I’d have the cash and time to get the most out of something that trick.
I’m absolutely loving the new Stephen Fry audio series, its taken a little while to spot all the references, I now think I’m there with the answer to this weeks clues.
The pictures were the hardest part for me, to start with I was trying to get picture 1, there are too many clues – “Gallery” & the dimensions are what finally cracked it for me. Once I got picture 1, Picture 2 was easy to browse to the picture once you’ve worked out which wall its hanging on.
From there it’s working out what Trefusis was doing in the war. Linking that back to the 2 pictures, hopefully we’ll get to find out what to do with this information next week. Episode 3 is released on June 23rd. I wish you could subscribe in itunes to save you the effort of checking back, that way it’d come straight into itunes.
I really looking forward to the World Cup this weekend, we went a few years ago and it was great fun, Ben was only 16 Months old so we were carrying him around in a rucsac. We saw all the downhills, trials and walking around the stalls etc… was fun looking at all on the new products.
Freecaster are offering live streaming of all the races, you can watch the races live here:
Let’s hope Steve Peat can pull it off and keep his series of wins going.
I was thinking about some of these tyres, but there just sooo expensive, even from the likes of Chain Reaction Cycles. This is about half the price of a car tyre, which seems a little bit like profiteering when you consider the amount of rubber etc… in a car tyre.
Still they’ve had good reviews so let’s hope they’re worth the investment
STW Ride, The Calf & Bowderdale in the magnificent Howgills. Sunday 31st May 2009. I’m at 1 Min 28 Secs – light blue top. Twas a great day out, 26 Miles, I bailed early as knackered from Scarfell climb the day before but still did the full distance just last half on road. Hit a top speed of 40 MPH which wasn’t bad freewheeling!
